Exciting Races Mark the Beginning of 2023 CYO Cross Country

Over 750 excited runners ran at Crown Beach Regional Park, Alameda, to begin the 2023 CYO Cross Country Season.  The races marked the beginning of a five week season.

The meet was held on Thursday afternoon, September 21 as runners, coaches and families streamed into the park for a series of seven races with age and gendr groiups starting with nervous kinders to experienced 8th graders.  Races were K-2 Girls, K-2 Bpys, 3-5 Girls, 3-5 Boys, 6-8 Girls, 6-8 Boys.  The race day was capped by the "Fun Run" with little runners and their parents.

CYO Cross Country teams are orgainzed inthe parishes and Catholic schools in the Diocese of Oakland.  Meets will be run for five
weeks at a variety of venures around the East Bay: Crown Beach, (Alameda), Oak HIll Park (Danville), Joaquin Miller Park (Oakland) and Shadow Cliffs Regional Park (Pleasanton).
