Welcome Patrick Thong, 

Associate Director of Construction and Risk Management

Patrick Thong has been hired as the new Associate Director of Construction and Risk Management! Patrick comes to the Diocese with several years of experience in the construction field as a consultant and facilities project management. He has also worked internationally as a business developer in Germany and Malaysia.  Patrick holds a master’s degree in education (Organizational Behavior & Leadership) from Patten University and a bachelor’s from Cal State East Bay in International Studies with a double minor in Marketing and International Business. He is a parishioner at St. Joseph Basilica in Alameda where he serves as a lector and is a member of the Knights of Columbus. 

Patrick will work closely with Sylvia Martinez in the Facilities department and assist parishes and schools with their renovation and building projects, as well as provide risk management for the Diocese. 

Some fun facts about Patrick: his favorite travel destination is going back to fascinating Asia, although locally, he enjoys Yosemite and the Redwoods. Patrick likes hot and spicy food and Malaysian curries are a favorite! While he enjoys local sports teams like the 49’rs, Warriors and Giants, he is a big fan of the beautiful game that is futbol (soccer) and the English Premier League. He roots for Liverpool FC and must be sending them very good vibes as they are currently first in the EPL! Patrick enjoys a variety of music but loves pop-rock, country, modern/contemporary jazz.
