Records Fall In Annual Diocesan CYO Track and Field Meet

Four diocesan meet records were broken in the annual Oakland Diocese CYO Track and Field Championshop Meet, held in May at Moreau Catholic High School, Hayward, and Granada High School, Livermore.  Over 500 runners from around the diocese competed in this two-day event.
runners in thrid through eighth grades qualified for the event through qualifying meets in their local track sections (leagues).  Events included sprints, distance races, relays and a variety of field events.
Diocesan meet records were set in:the:
8th Grade Girls 8oo Meter: Ava Padilla (CCOP), 2:18.51
8th Grade Girls Tetherball Toss: Gabgrielle Rogge (Transfiguration), 144' 7"
3rd Grade Boys 1600 Meter: Aariv Patel (CCOP), 5:51.89
7th Grade Boys 400 Meter: Braden Shen (St. John Vainney), 53.83

Diocesan recovdes have been recorded for over 60 year since the founding of the diocese.
