The CYO Spring Sports – Track & Field, Girls' Basketball (West Diocese) and Boys' Sand Volleyball have ended with a postseason meet, playoff and tournament. Over 500 runners competed in the Diocesan Track and Field Championship Meet, 35 Girls' CYO Basketball teams (in the western half of the diocese) played in Girls' CYO Basketball Playoffs, and 16 Boys' CYO Sand Volleyball teams played in the annual CYO Sand Volleyball Tournament. All events were held in May.
The CYO Diocesan ChampionshipTrack and Field Meet was run at Moreau Catholic HIgh School, Hayward, and Granada High School, Livermore. Over 500 CYO athletes, 3rd through 8th grade girls and boys, competed in the two-day event that included sprints, distance races, relays, long jump, high jump, softball throw,, shotput and tetherball toss. Girls' CYO Basketball Playoffs reusmed with the first full slate of games since the pandemic for teams in 4th through 8th grades representing their leagues in the western part of the diocese. Games wer played at Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward, All Saints gym in Hayward and St. Joseph Notre Dame in Alameda. The playoff finals packed the gym at Moreau for an exciitng conclusion. The annual Boys' CYO Sand Volleyball Tournament was played at Quarry Lakes Park in Fremont follwing a season of "fun in the sun and sand!" All teams participating in the league were invited to this two-day tournament featuring 16 teams in 5th through 8th grades.
