As we begin a new year, which promises to be a full one for our diocese, the diocesan communication team wants to update you on several items, some of which need your feedback.
Diocesan Directory. Due to limited interest and rising costs, the diocese will no longer be printing a diocesan directory. Most of the information is now available on our website, by going to https://oakdiocese.org/diocesan-directory. Please verify that information for your parish is correct. Note that we are no longer keeping schedules for Mass or the sacrament of reconciliation on the website, but asking people to visit your website for this information. Please make sure your website is always current, and please verify that we have the correct URL for your website. You can do this by clicking on the icon labeled ‘www’ on your parish’s pop-up box.
Also, note that Masstimes.org is used by many individuals when traveling or moving into a new area. Be sure your parish’s information is accurate on that website, too.
Social Media. Please take a few minutes to complete a survey on social media, and consider forwarding it to all who provide social media content for your parish. The survey link is https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/OAKsocialmedia. The survey will be open until Feb. 15.
Images. We are always interested in sharing your content and promoting your events! It’s important that we are able to verify that the necessary permissions were given before we can publish or post images of people. Anyone who is in an image or recording you send us needs to provide permission by submitting this form in English or Spanish. As a reminder, you can submit items for our weekly communication to parish and diocesan leadership, The Weekly, at https://oakdiocese.org/communications. And, for everyone’s convenience, links to the permission form is on that page, too.
The Catholic Voice. As many of you know, The Catholic Voice is now a monthly magazine, and is available to every registered parishioner in our diocese at no charge. If you need to update parishioners receiving TCV, please use this form: https://oakdiocese.org/catholic-voice-oakland-subscriptions. If you would like to submit a complete list of parishioners, please contact Lewis Bracy at [email protected]. Also, please note that the new production schedule for The Catholic Voice requires a 90-day lead time for publication of any time-sensitive information. In other words, if you want your May event promoted in The Catholic Voice, it is necessary to notify Michele Jurich by March 1.
Thank you in advance for your help in improving and streamlining our processes.
