First, we thank you for everything you were able to do to try and keep on track with the appeal last year. Every parish faced hardships and disruptions to their normal church and community life. A mere “Thank You” seems inadequate but just the same all of us at the Office of Mission Advancement are most grateful for your efforts and the efforts of your parishioners.
The New Year brings the start of the 2021 Bishop’s Appeal. It is upon us quickly this year due to the early beginning of Lent. This year we will once again use the theme Rebuild My Church. This theme means more now than ever.
The 2021 BA will commence on the weekend of February 13th and 14th, starting before Ash Wednesday and Lent. We are preparing all the materials and marketing pieces for distribution. There are no changes to the format or processes of the standard appeal.
We will host at least one “zoom” kick off meeting. That date(s) is still being finalized. Please begin to make your internal preparations and notes in upcoming print and social media. I will send the 2021 logo in a separate email.
The goals for the 2021 Bishop’s Appeal will stay the same for a third year. We know it will be a challenge, but with your continued support and the support of your parishioners, a goal we can attain.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Christ’s Peace, Giles Miller
P.S. The 2020 BA is tracking towards $2.5M in gifts and pledges. There are still a few batches of checks to be counted and some parish checks to be received. As soon as we are comfortable that we have everything accounted for we will publish the results.
