2023 Mandatory Anti-Harassment Training

2023 marks the retraining year for all clergy and employees in the Diocese of Oakland. The State of California mandates this training for any employer with over 500 employees, one hour of training for non- supervisors, and 2 hours of training for supervisors. This applies to anyone who is employed, no matter the hours or position.

The Diocese provides this training at no cost to our Diocesan schools and Parishes. Employees must be given time to complete the training. Once the training date is assigned at each site, employees will have 30 days to complete the training, no exceptions are granted.

Each parish and school will be receiving a list of employees who participated in your site’s last training. Please review the list and:

Delete employees no longer employed at your site
Add any new employees, with email addresses
Identify each employee as supervisory or non-supervisory
Email the revised spreadsheet to my attention: [email protected]

Each employee must provide your office with their completion certificate to be held in their personnel file. Once you have updated your employee list and returned it to me, let me know if there is a specific date you would like the training assigned. Once your site is assigned a training date you will have one month for all employees to complete the training. If you do not choose a date, the training will be assigned to your location on October 1, 2023.

Any employees hired after your main training date, simply send an email, with the name, email, position held and I can assign the training anytime within 6 months of hire date. Thank You,
