Ministries
The Diocese of Oakland organizes and funds a number of ministries that provide support to its parishes, schools and to the larger Catholic community. Diocesan-wide ministries, programs, services and events in some way reach every Catholic who attends a liturgy, receives sacraments and otherwise participates in the local church and parish life.
The Diocesan Pastoral Plan highlights these ministerial goals:
- Renew and deepen the celebration of the sacraments
- Provide formation that for all Catholics brings joy and enthusiasm for their faith
- Develop and sustain effective and healthy pastoral leadership for clergy, lay ministers and laity
- Guide the lifetime journey of stewardship
